This paper presents the modeling and simulation of an industrial-scale chemical looping combustion (CLC) power plant, including all process units (reactors, flue gas treatment units, heat integration, steam cycle, CO2 compression train). A model a 525 MWth CLC plant was built using rigorous representation solid fuel oxygen carrier. Petcoke considered main interest in this study, it is compared with other fuels. The compositions obtained show that cleanup are mandatory to comply quality requirements. High levels treatment, 97.1% deNOx 99.4% deSOx, needed achieve typical specifications for captured CO2. mainly due high level contaminants fuel, but also absence nitrogen gas, thus resulting higher concentrations substances. one important challenges CLC. overall capture efficiency estimated be as 94%. Regarding energy balance, net 38% obtained. Comparing results available technologies shows exhibits highest efficiencies carbon rates. promising technology produce clean from Finally, based on sensitivity analysis, shown affected by design performance furnace, injection rate reactor, char separation efficiency, excess air reactor.
